URGENT APPEAL: SUPPORT EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN MYANMAR
Overview of the Crisis
A devastating earthquake has struck Mandalay, Myanmar, causing massive destruction to homes, businesses, and places of worship. The disaster has also spread to Thailand, further worsening the situation. Among the ruins are numerous mosques that have been completely destroyed, leaving communities without their places of prayer and shelter. The death toll continues to rise, with at least 150 of our Muslim brothers and sisters having lost their lives in this tragic disaster.
Masjids have been destroyed
The following masjids have been confirmed as severely damaged or completely collapsed:
- Masjid Kyaukse Sulekone, Masjid Kampung Masjid Raya Baru
- Masjid Parit Gajah Selatan
- Masjid Jahit Mandalay West
- Masjid Taungnu Kanto
- Jambatan U Masjid Myit Tharap
- Masjid Kampung Tha San & Masjid Kampung Montha
- Masjid Benggali Maithila
- Masjid Nay Pyi Taw Kyuttaungkan
